KulturLandschaft Günztal
The KulturLandschaft Günztal Foundation is dedicated to restoring and preserving the system of streams in Bavaria between Obergünzburg in eastern Allgäu and Gunzburg in the valley of the Donau that meander the 92 km of the Günz valley – the longest system of streams in Bavaria. Valuable natural biotopes can still be found here: pristine springs, natural streams of flowing water as well as flowerfilled moors and marsh areas.
Since the early 1990’s, a “Biotope Association Günztal” was established by numerous contributing partners: from the communities to the water management and nature conservation offices and societies. Since the year 2000, the nature conservation initiatives have a new home – the Foundation KulturLandschaft Günztal: It conducts its own nature conservation projects and supports project partners in the biotope association Günztal. A one-of-a-kind cooperation in Bavaria.
The ANTON & PETRA EHRMANN FOUNDATION sponsors the KulturLandschaft Günztal foundation’s nature conservation work. The courses of streams can be restored, ponds dug, and marsh areas maintained. Moreover, the foundation KulturLandschaft Günztal also promotes and funds public relations work and carries out environmental education projects with schools, such as e.g. the “Green Classroom” or the “Beaver Box”.
