We at Ehrmann understand success in business as being more than growth, market shares and profit. To us, success also entails accepting social responsibility. The reconciling of business, the environment and society for the benefit of future generations is an important concern for us.

As a medium-sized family-owned business, sustainable management and the acceptance of social responsibility have come naturally to us for generations. The owner’s policy of retaining a substantial proportion of profits for necessary investments is best seen in the priority given to safeguarding and enhancing assets in the long term.

The Anton & Petra Ehrmann foundation is committed to numerous social and arts projects. A multi-year action plan designed to reduce the amount of pollution produced was initiated at all Group sites. In addition, thanks to considerable investments at all sites, environmental pollution was considerably reduced by lowering the pollution load and eliminating waste water.

In July 2010, the energy-delivery structure of the power supplier in Oberschönegg was changed over. By using electricity generated by regional hydroelectric plants, 4.2m tons of CO2 can be eliminated every year. By optimizing material consumption and transport volumes the environmental record also improved.

Fleischwerke Zimmermann succeeded in lowering their consumption of primary energy per kilogram of finished product over the past five years by 40%. CO2 emissions also dropped accordingly: Overall, the company has saved around 11,000 tons in CO2 emissions since 2004.

Since December 2009, all farmers produce non-GMO milk for the Gabler Saliter dairy.

In Russia, monetary and material donations are regularly made to children’s hospitals and orphanages, for example, in Chenzi in the Kostroma region.

At our Raos and Stribro locations, we have succeeded in substantially reducing the employee turnover rate by, amongst other things, introducing comprehensive social benefits. In the future, extensive investment projects will be explored in the area of photovoltaics and the generation of steam from renewable fuels.
